How do I add captions to a video from X (Twitter)?
Copy the link of the post (Share, then Copy link), paste it here and press Get video. Kaptio brings the video into your browser, writes every word with its timing and opens it in the editor, where you style the captions and export the video.
Is the video posted or uploaded anywhere?
No. The video goes from X straight into your browser and the project is only visible to you. Only the audio is sent to be transcribed, and nothing is ever posted to X.
How long is the video kept?
The copy of the video stays in your browser for 7 days. Your captions stay after that, and if you open the project again Kaptio brings the video back from X while the post is still up.
Which posts work?
Public posts with a video or a GIF, including the video of a quoted post. Private, deleted or age-restricted posts cannot be opened.
Can I translate the captions?
Yes. Pick the spoken language and, if you want, a translation into one of 30 languages. You can also export the captions as SRT or VTT files.
Do I need an account?
You can paste a link and see the video without one. Writing the captions needs a Kaptio account and uses time from your plan, the same on the web and the Android app.
